Autumn 2 Victorian Salford

The Victorians

Guided Reading

This half term we are really enjoying reading the book Holes by Louis Sachar. It is a book full of twists and turns and flashbacks where we find out extra information to help us piece things together.

Today we finished sewing our cushions as part of our DT project. We were very proud of ourselves and pleased with our end results.

We also made Victorian inspired Christmas crackers, we even put a treat inside, wrote our own jokes and made paper hats to put inside.

Today we enjoyed a thrilling magic show from Dazzling Darren. We certainly DO, all believe in magic! Well done Sabastian for winning your very own magic set. We are all looking forward to you showing us some tricks when we come back to school in January. laughyes

Today we took part in the Year 5 and 6 Christmas service in church. Well done to all those who did readings and to the girls who sang 'Oh Holy Night'. It was a beautiful service. You can see the whole service in the videos section on the website.

Today we had great fun taking part in the Great Santa Dash around our new Golden Mile running track. An amazing effort from everyone, well done Year 5.

This half term we are enjoying our Bible Explorers lessons with Andrew Gallimore.

Each week we are learning about stories from the Old Testament.

We have enjoyed using Scratch to create our own moving games on the chrome books.

In maths we enjoyed working collaboratively to challenge our learning of area and perimeter.

Testing air resistance in Science.
