This half term we will be learning all about the Maya. We will travel back in time to AD 200 to find out about the Classic Maya period, look at which part of the world the Maya lived in and find out about their everyday lives.
Through our whole class Guided Reading we will be studying the book Room 13 by Robert Swindells
This half term the class have been creating text based adventure games on Twine2. Today, the children read through each others stories and left reviews! An amazing effort by all the children!
The children spent a fantastic morning creating their Maya masks. I am beyond proud of their efforts; Superb design and technology work Year 6!

We may not be the Halle orchestra but we managed to play accompaniment to Pharrell Williams Happy in 2 parts. I think the fist pump from Leilani says it all!
In science, we are currently investigating the best conditions for microorganisms to grow. We have placed slices of bread around the classroom and will check up on them in a week!
Today, we have baked bread. We used the microorganism yeast to help our bread rise.
Today, artist Peter Hall visited class to begin our geometric shape art project. The children were very careful as they used rulers to draw parallel lines and colour in using contrasting colours. Over the next few weeks, we will add to our designs ready for Peter's second visit.
The children spread themselves out in the hall and designed and created their own tree diagrams for sorting animals.
