Cracking Coastlines

On the first week at school we looked at a fantastic book, The Colour Monster. This book looks at emotions and teaches us that sometimes we can feel all muddled up, and that's okay. We then made our own colour monsters with oil pastels, the different colours represented how we were feeling at that time!

In computing this half-term we have begun to look at algorithms, to learn about what this word means we created our own algorithms to get our friend from one hoop to the other. This was a lot of fun!

In science, we have been having so much fun! We are learning about what it means to be healthy, and something that is super important is wearing a helmet when riding a bike. We now know that it is dangerous not to wear a helmet because we can very easily injure ourselves. To test out which materials make the best helmets, we made egg helmets with foam, cardboard and bubble wrap. Have a little look at the pictures and videos!

In science this week, we learnt about how exercise keeps us healthy. Exercise has lots of benefits, not just your body, but your brain as well! To consolidate this learning we made our very own exercise videos, based on the lockdown legend himself, Mr Joe Wicks. Here are some videos of our fantastic exercise videos in class.

In English, we have been reading "Room on the Broom" and we have worked SUPER hard all week coming up with gruesome noun phrases for a potion that we would make in class. These are pictures of us making our ingredients out of playdough. Some of these creations are just simply fantastic, well done Year 2!!
