Home Learning 8th January

Good Morning Reception

We need to start the day with a great big 'WELL DONE' for all of you and your grown-ups.

The children in school and at home have been working very hard and you have all made me extremely proud.

We miss you all lots and can't wait until we are all back together in school.

If you have not joined in with any of our zoom lessons yet, we hope to see you this afternoon or next week!

Today I want you to share a story.

I have added a ppt with it on below.

It is called 'One Winter's Day'.

Before you read the story look at the front cover and answer the questions below:

What is the weather like?

Who is the character in the story?

What is he/she doing?

Where is the story set?

Is it a fiction or non-fiction book?

What do you think the story is about? What will happen?

(See below for the ppt)

After the story can you answer the questions below?

1. What was the weather like in the story?

2.What happened to the hedgehog's nest?

3.What animals did the hedgehog meet?

4. What did the hedgehog give to the animals?

5.What happened at the end of the story?

This morning I have added a reading  activity about winter. Your adult will need to read it to you and you need to listen very carefully. Then your adult will ask you some questions and you will need to answer them.

Good luck!

Love from Mrs Martinheart

                                     Phonics

For today's phonics lessons we normally do a cowboy quick write of our sounds and tricky words. Ask your grown up to read the sounds, diagraphs and tricky words for you to write down and check you still remember how to write them.

Good Afternoon Reception

This afternoon I would like you to think about all the things you are proud about this week.

Maybe you are proud of your numbers or writing. You may be proud that you managed to ride your bike or you kept your room tidy. Think about what you are proud about and why ?

If you are joining the zoom this afternoon we are going to do a little show and tell.

Can you bring something you would like to show and talk to the others about?

Maybe it is some of the work that you have been doing.

For your final challenge

I would like you to do a bit of P.E.

I have added a yoga video below.

See if you can do all of the moves and positions. You could even get your adult to join in.laugh

Have fun.yes

Have a lovely weekend, be safe and be good for your adults.

Love from Mrs Martin heart
