Today we made gingerbread and a warm spiced apple drink, both that were popular in the Tudor Times. The gingerbread was a big hit but there weren't many thumbs up for the spiced apple juice! Have a look at the pictures of us making and trying them this afternoon.
Today we went to visit Ordsall Hall as part of our Tudor topic. We had a fantastic day. In the morning we prepared a wedding banquet in the great Hall and learned about the food that was eaten by both rich and poor Tudors. Throughout the day we located a variety of herbs in the kitchen garden and ground spices including cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt and pepper. We also made our own pomander using dried herbs from the garden. To end the day we participated in a Tudor dance in the Banqueting Hall. We hope you enjoy looking at the photographs of our fun day.
Today we had lots of fun dressing up and then learning how to play Quidditch before taking part in a final tournament. We had great fun and are now all Quidditch experts! - Well done everybody!
In our Music lessons we have been learning to play some Tudor music on the glockenspiels.
This term, we have been lucky to have an artist, Mr Hall visit us for an art project. So far we are really proud of the work we have completed and we look forward to showing you our final masterpieces.
In our science lessons we were learning about shadows and how and why they move on the ground throughout the day. We went outside to draw round some shadows and then went back later in the day to plot their new positions. Luckily the sun stayed out just long enough!
In our RE lessons we have been learning about the bible and the importance it plays in the lives of Christians.
We are absolutely loving reading this book in class at the moment. Bradley Chalker is such a complex character. Is he really bad, or is he just misunderstood? Will new boy Jeff and Carla the councillor be able to befriend him and help him to change his life around?
